 Food to BOOST ENERGY

Cl  wrote on the 10 June 2007

Does anyone have any advice on boosting my energy levels?
I have a wheat intolerance & so avoid pasta & bread. The other night I made some wheat free pasta & the after effects were as bad as with the wheat free kind. I felt as if I had been injected with vallium & at 8.30pm had to go to bed. The ingredients were potato starch & rice flour, lots of carbs.
I also feel lacking in energy, especially in the afternoon. I have heard that more protein can help with energy levels, but how much will I need? Do I increase protein foods or do I take protein supplements?
Does anyone have any experience of an eating plan that really helped in increasing their energy levels? Im tired of feeling tired! I want to feel great!

Be careful of falling into the post hoc fallacy. This is the mistake that if A comes before B then must have A caused b. For mroe read here:

Dont jump to conclusions that its your diet that is causing you low energy levels, it might be , it might not be and im sorry to tell you that no one who hasnt examined you is going to be able to give you any answers. One shouldnt rule out the fact that a low carb diet could be causing your low energy levels. Anyone that does endurance sports knows that you need lots of carbs for energy, just go and ask a marathon runner or a climber.
