 Coping with abandonment

Jacqueline  wrote on the 07 April 2007

HI, I am hoping that someone can give me some support and advice.
Just over two weeks ago my live in partner walked out on me with no warning or explanation. I have no idea where he is and I have had only two texts from him since he moved out. My 7 & 10 year old sons (not his) and I are really suffering. They are mistrustful and I feel very depressed. I am having reiki which is really helping but can anyone give me any idea of other treatments or healing techniques I can use at the moment.
Thankyou

Hi,

My heart goes out to you and I am with many questions when you say "no warning" and that your children are mistrustful. Have you told them the truth - that you do not know and are upset, whilst also letting them know you are their for them.

I would highly recomend some psychotherapy or maybe counselling.

World As Lover, World As Self includes an introduction by Thich Nhat Hanh. It is a book offering a world view, the collective emotional, spiritual and physical "damage" we all carry from past conditioning and a way forward. A holistic Buddhist view without pushing a specific remedy but showing just how collectively damaged the world has become.
